If I had been going to a Halloween party today, I would definitely try to act out this idea. Little Red Riding Hood in the form of Natalia Vodianova, shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. Beautiful. Hope you’re all having a wonderful evening, full of horror and candy.
The song is from one of my favourite rock operas, the Romanian Rock’n Roll Wolf, which is based on the story of the wolf and the seven baby goats by The Brothers Grimm. Ballet, singing and ridiculous yet fantastic costumes. Maybe and idea for next years Halloween celebration..?
I have spent the day in bed, contemplaiting if there would be any point in getting out of the bed. Was supposed to go to an art venue to see Per Fronth’s newest works, and then to a Halloween party, but every time I stand up I get dizzy spells. Risked a short trip down to the grocery-store, sweaty and without make-up, not a confidence-boost at all. So now I’m barricading myself in the sofa with a couple of litres of water and A Cinderella Story on TV. I think I might’ve died last night by the way, lucky for me I have at least 9 lives, probably more.
I’m sick. Fever, coughing, chills, nausea, and things like that. Swine flue, bird flue, horse flue, who knows? Not fun. So I’m on the couch watching Disney Channel and feeling sorry for myself. I feel like I’m going to die.
Last night was wild. I don’t know. I’m still asleep (prewritten ya know), or on my way to the lecture that begins at 8:15 (too early!!). I just needed an excuse to post this superhot picture of Ms. Moss for Topshop. Makes me feel like dancing the night away. Which I hopefully did yesterday. To this song. Which I think is hot, like it or not ;)

magical

This morning while walking to Khio (to watch one of A’s dance classes) I passed a mystical magical wonderland called Oslo before 9am in the morning (I rarely experince that). It was freezing cold and frost everywhere, and it looked absolutely dream-like. Had to take some pictures in other words. And they turned out quite nice, although it looked even more magical in real life.
Now I’m off to Marie’s to get ready for the Bloggparty tonight. I’m also running away from the voluntary fall-cleaning in the building I’m living in (sshhh, don’t tell anyone). I think I’m allergic to cleaning, I have enough trouble keeping my own apartment decent, so I feel no need to change light bulbs, paint the doors or clean the backyard.
The woman has given birth to 2 children and still looks amazing.
She will always be my favourite and has been since I first discovered her 6 years ago (yeah, that’s a long time).

Dear handsome guys of the world, it takes so little for you to dress nicely, so why don’t you?
To go out without looking like you’ve just arrived from a trip in the forest, or for that matter looking like a wannabe gangster or like you’ve slept in the clothes you’re wearing. I’m not saying that there aren’t a lot of guys out there actually thinking about what they are wearing and dressing well, Gustav in the pictures above is a perfect example of that. I just wish there were more of you guys. Pretty please?
Today I’m actually going to the English Phonetics lecture (*clapping*). Yeah, I’m proud. I usually fall asleep during those lectures, so have shown a mean tendency to skip them lately, but today I’m feeling semi-awake (Gustav cancelled last night so I actually got in bed at a decent time) so I thought I would give it a shot. I LOVE the red jacket from FRETEX btw, my new favourite item. It kind of makes me look like a hobo, but I don’t care. It’s red, and it’s cool and it gives me Michael Jackson-vibes all over the place. Beat it!

autumn leaves

The falling leaves drift by the window
The autumn leaves of red and gold
I see your lips, the summer kisses
The sun-burned hands I used to hold
Since you went away the days grow long
And soon Ill hear old winters song
But I miss you most of all my darling
When autumn leaves start to fall

This is one of my favourite campaigns right now, the colours are delicate but rough, the rock’n'roll clothes combined with Siri’s sophsiticated look. Proud to be Norwegian, when looking at Siri.
Back from the Diesel thing. There’s a lot of hot things coming this spring, among others this amazing leather jacket, love the blue colour, it’s even deeper in real life. I’m counting the days until it arrives in the stores. I also fell for the gold watch, but I need to find a way to justify bying myself another gold watch before I can even think about that one. After a cup of coffee and some delicious carrotcake with Elise I’m back in my lair and in front of the computer, working with a header for a friend and doing homework. And watching Disney Channel of course. :)
Today I’m meeting up with Elise to go to a PR event at Diesel, followed by some cups of coffee, before I head up to the university to discuss next Fall and my future as an international transfer student to the United States of America. Yeah. Then later Gustav is coming over to watch James Bond and make something eatable (hopefully).
BTW, I’m working on expanding my musical horizon, so I was wondering if you would like to recommend some music for me? CDs I already own can be found here.
This blog belongs to Maren, a 23-year-old quasi-intellectual girl from Kristiansand, Norway. She has got a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Oslo, and is now living in Honolulu, Hawaii where she is working on a MA in Communication at Hawaii Pacific University. She likes books. [more?]
In 2004 I started to write down what books I read in order to keep track of them all. Since 2006 I have gathered them here instead of in my notebook and they serve as a reminder of how I should read more and compete to beat my old “record”. You can find the complete list here.
