I wish every day for the rest of the summer will be this nice.

I want that jacket so badly. And the pose made me think of Michael Jackson.
Will be listening to his music all summer. He was a great artist.
The best pop artist the world has ever seen, without a doubt.

// The day was spent competing in orienteering. My first run since November, you can say I was a bit rusty. But I’ll win tomorrow, you bet I will. *insert heavy sarcasm* Finished the day with sushi, which is on it’s way to become my favourite food in the whole wide world, it’s just too good. I’m slightly addicted I think.

In this heat there’s only one thing you can do, and that is eating as much watermelon as you can possibly manage to stuff in your mouth. Here’s some for you, tuck in!

//a beautiful book about making the most of life. Each page offers a picture and a challenge of the day, in the lines of: “Reread your favourite book from fifth grade”, “Make an encouraging banner” and one of my personal favourites: “Draw a constellation from someone’s freckles”. Read more on their blog here.
// 100 years of style, by decade and designer, told through the eyes of Vogue. Gorgeous pictures, this is a small but ingenious guide to everything you need to know about the modern history of fashion and it’s most profiled and creative designers.
// a survey of the most important fashionistas and style icons of our time, from the classic Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Marlene Dietrich and Audrey Hephburn to Kate Moss, Dita Von Teese and Chloë Sevigny. Short but covering text and descriptive pictures makes this book perfect. A survival guide for a true fashionista.

// The books listed above, and Don Quijote, is what I’m going to read this summer. Have been wanting to read Tales From Earthsea and Perks of Being A Wallflower for years, but haven’t had the time until now. Murakami and Gaiman are ingenious, so no worries there. Hopefully they’re all brilliant.

R.I.P Michael Jackson.
I feel like crying.

I just love this shot.

New photos from Tim Burton’s shot at Alice In Wonderland, scheduled to hit cinemas come spring 2010. With Johnny Depp as The Mad Hatter, Helena Bonham-Carter as The Red Queen, Alan Rickman as The Caterpillar, Christopher Lee as The Jabberwock and Stephen Fry as The Chesire Cat, among others. I can’t wait. This movie has got to be perfect.

Talking about shoes (well, I weren’t but that’s beside the point), I just think these YSL caged heels are the top of amazing. Wouldn’t mind owning a pair or two.. Come to think of it, I wouldn’t mind owning all of Jane Aldridge’s shoes. The girl has the most amazing wardrobe, no wonder she’s winning awards for best fashion blogs everywhere these days. Check here out here (if you haven’t already, which you should have): Sea of Shoes.

This spring, Karl Lagerfeld returned to a tradition in the House of Chanel by designing costumes for the English National Ballet. The costume of the Dying Swan is to be worn by senior principal dancer, Elena Glurdjidze as a part of the English National Ballet’s “Ballet’s Russes” season this month.
Lagerfeld follows in the footsteps of Coco Chanel herself who designed costumes for both Le Train Bleu in 1924 and Apollon Musagete in 1929 in Paris. She also supported Ballet Russes founder Serge Diaghilev to stage The Dying Swan again after World War I in 1919. This year marks the centenary of the first performance of Diaghilev’s ballet at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris.

The costumes have received bland critism, but for my own part (and I have been dancing ballet for nearly 15 years) I must say I love it. The delicacy of the feathers, the daintiness and the grace. One has no choice but to look graceful when wearing something like this costume.

During the final fitting of the costume, Elena danced the selected piece of The Dying Swan for Karl himself, which (to me) is one of the most beautiful scenes in the world of ballet. You can see the video here:

My new favourites: cheap pearls, my lovely gold watch (from sjarm) and red/pink nailpolish.

Today I really needed to do something really fun or drink something really strong in order to get back into normal good karma-state. This lead to me and Kine eating schrimps and drinking champagne at Bølgen & Moi. Wonderfull food, excellent champagne, loved it. I made a fool out of myself though, forgetting the fact that it was Kine’s BIRTHDAY today. Yeah, I feel like an idiot. Called her now and appologized, but I still feel like a complete idiot. Will have to find something cool as bday present in order to make up for it. Any ideas?

I’m going to soak in the sun and read some fine literature for the rest of the day. Could life get any better?
My summer playlist includes these songs:
Keane – Spiralling
Donkeyboy – Ambitions
Brigitte Bardot – Moi Je Joue
MGMT – Kids
Mr Hudson & The Library – Cover Girl
Jace Everett – Bad Things
Asher Roth – I Love College
