paint me some sugar cane

I am a blog-copycat these days. Today I borrowed an idea from the superfresh Johnny (Fresh) and painted my nails in a sort of white and pink candy cane-pattern. The colors are sneaking their way into my everyday wardrobe just like everyone elses, and I suspect that come summer I will be wearing neon together with a healthy tan as much as possible.

NOW I am off to party with Johnny (Leave Home).

autumn is full of colors

Got some of the photos from the MNY launch in the mail yesterday. Don’t know if I’ve mentioned it before, but I have a bad habit of making some kind of face whenever someone points a camera in my general direction. You might have noticed..

Anyways, MNY make-up has now arrived in various CUBUS stores all over the country, so I thought I might remind you of the fact. Since I attended the launch of the brand I have been trying to play around with color a little bit more, I have periods of nail polish obsession and now I’ve started to venture out into the vast land of colored eye shadow. Being a firm believer in all tones of brown and black whenever I put on eye shadow (with a hint of white, or gold ones in awhile to spice up the browns), this sort of a revolution for my part. A fun one at that. The make-up is easy to apply and work with, even an amateur like me can do it. Especially the nail polish is God’s gift to me. Easy to apply, perfect result. And of course, it costs next to nothing (29kr for a nail polish I think).

I might sound like some brain-washed (or well paid-off) person, but in reality I am just very happy with these products.

Have any of you tried it yet, and if so, what do you think?

Pictures from the MNY launch yesterday. MNY is L’Oreal/Maybelinne’s new make up line, and the “numero uno” thing we learned yesterday, is that MNY is all about colors. Usually I tend to go for brown, black or other dark colors, but I am actually quite intrigued by the thought of using more colors, and while it might take a while to add color to my wardrobe, make up might be the first step.

Saida and Maja looking fresh.

No blogger-party without cupcakes, and these tasted out-of-this-world-delicious. (I started drooling at the sight of them..)

Mira and Linn were also among the bloggers attending, and looked quite smashing.

Got some green eyes shadow applied and learnt a great trick that I will put to use tonight. If you apply some black eyeliner and sooth the eye first, and then put the eye shadow on top, those areas will be darker. On the picture the make up artist used a light green tone only, so the part that is almost yellow is the part that is applied directly on the skin, while the green part has eyeliner underneath. Cool, huh?

orange

Orange nail-polish from Stella.

Heavily influenced by Columbine’s love for everything orange (and the fact that Pia happened to have orange nail polish) I’ve painted my nails carrot. Found out I sort of loved it combined with earth tones, especially the beige and brown.

Slept over at a friend’s, so started the day today by walking home, and morning walks is really something I highly recommend to everyone. You get to stretch your legs, get your body working properly and your mind on the schedule of the day in a calming environment. My walks are quite brisk, being a fan of getting the pulse up and challenging my lungs a little. A morning jog is even better, but the barrier to go for a walk is always much lower than jogging (which I find to be a pain in the morning, night-running ftw).

Today is all about packing and getting ready, leaving around 1600 tomorrow. Excited :D

I had a few additions to my wardrobe the last week, and yesterday I added a new dress from H&M and a lovely YSL lipstick to the collection as well. Getting ready for summer with delicate pink&nude colors, I’m so incredibly tired of white skin and black clothes.

On another note entirely, I now exist on twitter again. Mostly to have a place to collect all the twitter accounts I’m following, but I do have a thing or two to say once in a while that doesn’t qualify as blog posts. So if you might find it interesting, it’s right here.

in my bag

A big fan of the “what’s in your bag”-posts bloggers write about at times, so decided I’d do one myself. My Dr. Q by Marc Jacobs follow me everywhere, and there is always some necessities that needs to be there for me to function.

First off I need a pair of sunglasses, usually my aviators, my wallet from Topshop and a plain nail polish (like my new Chanel) in case my nails needs a make-over (which they usually do far too often).

Something to read when I’m on the tram or taking a coffee break, usually a fashion magazine + book. Right now I’m reading The Winner Stands Alone, by Paulo Coelho. Haven’t read any of his books in a looong time (my favorite is Veronica Decides To Die, if anyone wondered) and had forgotten how well he writes. But anyways, I always have my iPhone with me, definitely an addict, and my moleskine day planner.

Beauty essentials: perfume (Victoria Secret?), mascara from OriFlame (my current favorite) and my YSL concealer.

Add my Canon Powershot G11, and that’s it.

I know, it’s so last week, but I’m always late on trends. Or maybe early..?

In 2004 I started to write down what books I read in order to keep track of them all. Since 2006 I have gathered them here instead of in my notebook and they serve as a reminder of how I should read more and compete to beat my old “record”. You can find the complete list here.
