A Christmas Party

Friday night’s Christmas Party was about as funny, weird, alcohol-related and lovely as it was supposed to and expected to be. My company for the evening consisted (amongst others) of this lovely group of people, and our table was by far the coolest table in the building. No doubt about it.
I was wearing a dress from Moods of Norway that has been waiting for me in the closet for 6 months now.Perfect dress for pretty evenings in hot climates like Hawaii. And once the dance floor was ON, the climate in the ballroom got perfectly humid. Which was somewhat given considering the fact that the 120 people in attendance managed to consume the amount of alcohol usually sold to a party of 250 people. We Norwegians hold our alcohol and drunken dancing-skills close to heart. (No complaints about bad behavior though!)
All in all a nice ending to a great first semester here in Hawaii.

Come with us and you will see
This – our town of Halloween

High Heels, Pouring Rain and Champagne

DRESS asos SHOES whyred BAG marc by marc jacobs
Since I last updated I have had a short trip to Oslo, and now I am back in Kristiansand once again. On Thursday I got time to attend the Nelly Vision-party, and donned high heels and a dress for once. Seems like ages since I’ve worn high heels, so it felt nice to play dress up again. Took pictures for OsloNights at the event, pictures which you can see right here, and then took a cab to the launch party for the latest edition of SMUG. Celebrated my bachelor’s degree with beer and extensive talk, before dancing home in the pouring rain. Got home, soaked to the bone, put on a warm sweater and made some scolding hot tea, before falling asleep on top of the covers of my bed. A perfect evening in other words.

Know that the Internet has no eraser.
Pictures from the Swarovski event on Thursday. Danced till I could barely stand up straight, ate blueberries until I started to feel like Violet Beauregarde from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, drank cava curtesy of other people and practiced small talk like my life depended upon it. Another amazing evening in other words, even though yesterday morning with all work and no play was less than ideal.
I would have preferred to stay in bed until at least 11am, but you cannot always get everything the way you want it. I am currently writing an essay on the history of the portrait in photography, and it’s development as an artistic medium since the very beginning. Fascinating, but heavy; to select which elements to focus on is a tiresome process. I have a week left until deadline though, so there’s still some time to polish and make perfect.
I will answer you’re questions on Sunday btw, so if there’s anything you want to ask me, you can do so here. Hope you’re enjoying the sun and the weekend, dearest readers !

youth knows no pain

Reunion with the New York-gang on Friday at Dag’s place. We made tapas, drank wine and celebrated that we’d all submitted our exam papers. Ate way past the point of no return and rolled around for the rest of the evening regretting my lack of self-containment when it comes to food. But it’s hard to say no when you’re presented with baked mushrooms, meatballs with chili, lasagna, sushi, 3 different types of salad with ruccola, watermelon, feta, tomatoes, olives, avocado, walnuts, and loads of bread with aioli. Life is good great. NOW I need to get the apartment ready for a BUFFY-marathon. Yes. Seriously. It’s going to be quite awesome.

dark and apocalyptic

JACKET primark T-SHIRT diesel SCARF american apparel
Had a great time at Fisk&Vilt last night, dancing to the music of Chris Dexter Greenspan aka oOoOO. A weird mix of hiphop, heavy synth and dubstep beats. Very dark and apocalyptic, which fit quite perfectly with the pouring rain outside. My kind of music at the moment (although that might change in a heart beat, one week ago I was in love with Alexis Jordan – Happiness). Good night in other words, followed by a day in the sun at Grünerløkka today. Have you seen the weather forecast for Oslo the next days? Sun – sun – sun the next seven days. Might have to listen to something else instead of oOoOO in other words. But fear not, the rain and grey weather will come back, it always does.

oslo aint so bad

Thursday was a busy day. Loads of school, followed by a preview of Celine Engelstad’s new collection, the launch of the newest edition of Høgskolens magazine ERGO (with a new staff and design) and finally the opening of the new PR agency This Is PR. One lucky guest won a trip to New York, and once again it wasn’t me. Damnit. That’s the third time in less than a month, NY trips are obviously the trendy give-away right now. But I had a blast anyhow, discussing literature with one of my favorite musicians from way back when I was 14, posing for pictures every third second (and I am quite positive I looked like something “the cat dragged in” in most of them) and generally enjoying myself immensely.
I have come to realize (as the drug that is New York is slowly draining away) that Oslo is quite fun when it all comes down to it. You just have to open your eyes and look around you. Have a little revelation of some sort. See the beauty in the littlest of things, etcetera. Then again, free alcohol does have some perks in the direction of everything being just splendid, so we can’t rule out that factor just yet.

I change shapes just to hide in this place, but I’m still an animal.

More pictures from yesterday’s festivities.

Maria had her own corner on the 5th floor with a 2 meter high poster of herself and some of her favorite items from H&M…

…and so did Nathalie, as well as Camilla and Malin. Bloggers are taking over the fashion world, for real.

Marie of Dagens Outfit and Notre.co looked fresh and fab as usual..

…and so did Alexandra Richards (Keith’s daughter yes) as she worked at what she is known for these days, DJ-ing.

Danby was in a happy dancy mood…

..mostly because of all the free alcohol (that goes for Julie as well).
