Those who wait ..

In the middle of all the exam reading and writing this showed up on my door. A gift from a friend, from the wonderful vintage/second-hand heaven that is Etsy. It so over-the-top, fugly and beautiful and will be a constant companion hanging on my shoulder from now on. The perfect size for a light school day. It’s red/orange twin has been in my inspiration folder ever since I saw it on Hope this lasts. And now it’s mine. <3 Now I just need one in dark purple and one in red. And possibly a blue one. But that will have to wait until I have the money to buy one myself.

Curiosity killed the cat

For your information; I don’t really like cats. Well not as much as I like dogs anyways. Cats are too smart, I always feel less intelligent in their presence. But here I am, with a cat on my t-shirt. In space. I am currently watching the sunset on the lanai, eating tomato soup and contemplating life, homework, work and the great mysteries of world. In descending order. And I have a question for you:
What would you like to see more/less of on this blog of mine ?

A girls gotta do..

Prance fringe boot from Jeffrey Campbell
I got these a while back, but I’d ordered them in the wrong size so I had return them, now the right pair is finally here, and I’m in love. I have never really been a shoe girl, not that I don’t have plenty of them, but you know. But these babies. Welcome home!

The Hummingbirds

I have searched the interweb for a couple of days/weeks/months to find the perfect cover for my beloved NOOK, without any real result until I found this. Real leather, beautiful details and that perfect touch of Asian culture that I have been a secret fan of since the age of 10 (or earlier, I don’t actually recall when it started). From Oberon Design.
Do you approve?

The Impossible Astronaut

BATHING SUIT from black milk
For some reason this reminds me of Doctor Who, and nothing else. Well, technically it reminds me of River Song, but potato – potato. Sorry, Buzz Aldrin, you’ve lost your fame to a British sci-fi series.

Sigma 15mm F2.8 Fisheye Lens

The kind UPS man showed up in the end, ten minutes after I had given up on him. Ten minutes after the sun had set and I was half-way out the door to celebrate a birthday on a balcony with cheesecake and red wine. But then he stood there, right outside my house with a parcel just for me. And now it’s mine. A 15mm fisheye lens from Sigma. Ready for me to explore the world in a 180 degrees. Oh I’m in love. The weather today is a bit too grey for my taste, but here are some test shots I took earlier today:

Lost in sunglasses

New sunglasses from STYLENADA.
If there is one thing I can’t get enough of here in Hawaii, it’s sunglasses. These are the latest addition to my collection.

wake up, yellow

Boots from STYLENANDA
A new edition to my wardrobe that arrived just before Christmas. Jeffrey Campbell’s Lita has always been a favorite, but I think that the tip of the boots are too big, while these are just perfect. And they’re yellow ! Who can resist a touch of yellow on their feet?

All I wanted for Christmas…

I’ve wished for a drawing tablet for at least 5 years now, but it has never entered the wish list, primarily because I didn’t know where to get one, until I moved to Hawaii and found this at the Apple store. I made sure every member of the family knew that I wanted this more than anything (except for a pony), and while I could have bought it myself, it is a lot more fun to get it as a Christmas present. So now I can finally draw (and write) anything I want – just the way I want it – on the macbook. High five*5.
Did you get something you really wished for this year?

Pink (not girl) Power

New bikini from Victoria’s Secret and sailor shoes from Sperry Top-Sider bought at Nordstrom. Never thought I’d see the day where I willingly picked out – not one but – two pink things to wear. The shoes are UGGs in sailor shoe format though, so soft ! And to match all this pink I stopped by Apple and bought a pair of purple headphones as a Xmas gift from my grandmother to me. Thank you, mormor !
And I had to slip in another picture of the Chanel. ‘is too pretty not to.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas

BAG chanel NAILPOLISH deborah lippmann
My family has finally arrived, and my address has been changed to floor 34 at the Trump Tower in Waikiki. We’ve decorated for Christmas and Frank Sinatra’s voice is singing Christmas songs while my dad is making dinner. Today was spent at Ala Moana for the mandatory trip to Abercrombie&Fitch (my sisters collect half of their wardrobe from that store), and some holiday shopping. Bought a red glitter nail polish from Deborah Lippmann at Nordstrom to make my nails match the season, because this year the Christmas spirit will only arrive if I make it so.
And yeah, I forgot to mention that I inherited this beautiful Chanel bag from my mum. It is indeed beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

Earrings from Forever21.
Upgraded my wardrobe a little for the upcoming Christmas ball with ANSA. On a student budget that means buying new earrings to look smashing. I kind of love these. I also love having Forever21 just up the street, there are a lot of crappy things there, but cheap beauties exist amongst the cheap fabrics and min-mini dresses. Like these boots (I wear them waaay too much), shorts and this outfit.
Well, last exams tomorrow. Back to studying – which means Harry Potter & the Chamber of Secrets.

the camera doesn’t lie, but you do

I bought my first polaroid camera during my trip to New York back in January, and I have never regretted that once. I have always had a fascination with cameras that can produce an image right away, and like the wannabe-hipster I am, I love the retro-feel. But I had one problem with the first one, and that was the fact that it is a bit to big to follow me around everywhere. SO as a solution, I bought this. Funny and white and it delivers wallet-sized pictures in no time. Just have to wait for the film, as I forgot to order film when I bought this..
Do you own a polaroid-camera?

Skulls and turquoise crosses

Ordered these a while back from my old favorites at the Dutch website fashionology.nl. The turquoise is just so very Hawaii, and I am starting to fall back in love with those sculls. Maybe because I’ve been watching Bones for the past 3 weeks.
