Gotland has been beautiful and oh-so peaceful, and to just have 3 days there was just way too short a time for that island. Gotland, we’ll see each other again in the not so distant future! For now I am located in Stockholm once more and yesterday was their national day. We celebrated it on a boat in the Stockholm harbor with perfect weather, a live band and great food. A “must be repeated”-event for sure. Today we’re going to explore Stockholm before heading back to Västerås to finish packing B’s apartment.

From Gotland

I’m having a great time. (Un)Fortunately the summer house we live in don’t have any wi-fi, so there’s little time for blogging or facebooking or anything. Real vacation in other words. Gotland is as beautiful as I’d hoped and more, and the sunsets here just might rival those in Hawaii.

a real party

Found these pictures on my iPhone from the ACNE after party in Stockholm last week. Wish every party could be like that. Free drinks, beautiful people everywhere, set in an old garage/warehouse. And of course, the best drag queen I’ve ever seen. He/she was amazing, both in song, dance and costume change. I wish we taped it. ;)

Now I’m off to meet Erik and shop/drink coffee.

New blog recommendation coming your way, today the spotlight is on: OsloNights.no. Oslonights is one of my absolute favorite streetstyle-based blogs, always around whenever there’s something going on in Oslo, always capturing the people that are funky, edgy or just playing it casual. Whenever I’m experiencing a fashion emergency (which happens about 4 or 5 times a day) I browse through (among others) Oslonights to get inspiration. I like going through the pictures from events I were actually attending, it feels like a very exclusive facebook album then, but my sneaky-stalker-ish side also like looking through the pictures at events I weren’t at, to see who were there, and who they went together with (my own personal and more glamorous Se&Hør. hehe).

All in all I am a great fan of Oslonights, both for fashion purposes and for gossip purposes.

Go visit (and congratulate Rut, it was her bday last Wednesday): Oslonights.no .

Stockholm Fashion Week obviously meant cameras everywhere, both famous magazines (vogue, interview, costume, etc) and bloggers (like facehunter, styleclicker and random bloggers). I managed to look all kinds of ugly in almost every picture I’ve seen so far, but I’m hoping that the picture that might end up in Interview will look smashing. Let’s pray some shall we. Anywho, here’s some of the pictures I have found so far on the world wide web.

OMG. (yeah, actually) I LOVED this. Without a doubt my personal favourite out of all the shows we’ve seen this week. The shoes (!!!), the dresses, the pants, the fabrics, the seams. This will damage my bank account badly when it comes out, but that’s fine with me.

fashionweek day 2

Started the day with an intimate viewing of the new collection from HOPE, inspired by Ingmar Bergman and his film the Seventh Seal (1957). (will post more pictures later, once I’ve stolen them from Eva’s camera).

After the show Nadia guided us through the (shopping)streets of Stockholm before we landed in a small cafe for lunch.

Being healthy and all I ordered a CARROT-cake with a STRAWBERRY on it and a black coffee. Yum.

The best thing about the VITA show was the chandelier in the middle of the catwalk. Beautiful.

Cool stuff from Beckmans College of Design.

Concept art for the win @Beckmans. So fascinating.

Shoe love from Whyred.

Content girls at the opening of the new Malene Birger store in Biblioteksgatan.

Today it’s shopping-shopping-shopping, Minimarket, Local Firm, Carine Wester and then the ACNE afterparty. I’m taking quite a liking to this life. Could get used to this easily.

Today I wore:

Last evening at Filippa K. Didn’t get any pictures of the collection worth sharing, but I can say that it was very typical Filippa K: classic and chic. I didn’t see anything I’d want to wear, but then again Filippa K might not be a brand trying to reach customers in my age/style group. The styling was amazing though, very classic with red lips, hats and hair a la the 50s. Accompanied by live piano and beautiful song, and set to what is going to be a new museum  but is now an empty and raw warehouse-kind of building it was certainly different from the rest of the shows so far.

After some sushi with our new Swedish friends and Natalie we went shopping, hoping to find gold, and returning with (in my case) a red iPhone case and a belt from Beyond Retro. Then we skipped along to Berns to enjoy a glass of wine before the Stylein show. Key words: Cool (with a capital C) tights, see-through fabric, maxi skirts/dresses, wedges. Loved the tights, loved one of the black maxi skirt and loved the dress in the picture below, but other than that I think the collection looked like a mix of Gina Tricot + Whyred, and nothing was too interesting.

First day of Fashion Week by Berns is officially over, and I’m sitting in bed at the hotel with Eva and Maria, all three with our laptops processing and editing pictures. Landed in Stockholm at 10am, took a taxi to the hotel, changed clothes and then bussed down to Berns for accreditation and the first show of the day: Dagmar. Key words: velvet (loads of it), wedges (from finsk. yum), asymmetric-ness and a focus on the waist. Also met Natalie, + two wonderfully stylish Swedish girls (who’s blog you can find here) which was captured by Maria in the picture above.

In 2004 I started to write down what books I read in order to keep track of them all. Since 2006 I have gathered them here instead of in my notebook and they serve as a reminder of how I should read more and compete to beat my old “record”. You can find the complete list here.
